Disability advocates scored an important victory when they took the LBJ school to task for failing to include people with disabilities on any of the panels. After a national campaign to rectify the situation, they got one of the prime architects of the ADA on the same panel with Maria Shriver. Now some folks are saying that the situation has re-energized national advocates to amp up their efforts to show that they are part of an ongoing civil rights battle. Members of ADAPT go up the driveway to the Capitol where they hope more accessibility will happen. For example, there is no wheelchair accessibility into the Capitol on the south end where most of the protest and demonstrations occur. The "Great Walk" (which leads from the sidewalk up to the Capitol) is not wheelchair accessible as well. David White makes his way to the south steps.
